Frank time
Just some packaging I found while I was researching for my Vegas project. This style is similar to the one I am going for in one of my idea pitches. I love the idea of incorporating his lyrics in the background like that. I love me some Frank!

Stock photos
Since we're talking about stock photos, I figured I'd post the website that I use. It's called Stock Xchng and I've never had to pay. There are some premium things you have to pay for, but I've never really had an issue. I love this site, enjoy!

wait for it...
I couldn't figure out what was going on here for about 15 seconds and then i figured it out. Creative for sure. Seth Mach
Dado Q
Dado Queiroz is very impressive. All of his works are done with 2D software, so his shading and lighting are immaculate. I like his interactive yet simple layout of his website. He makes stuff pop off the page.

Cool quote illustrations
I was thinking of extra things I could do to build up my portfolio and I found this collection of Quote Illustrations that I thought were great. The illustrations are strong so the supporting quotes are simple and aesthetically pleasing to me. Something to think about.

Great Imagery
I found this graphic image on Ctr Alt Dlt's Facebook page. I love how the image brings your eye into the picture using negative space. At first glance I thought this was a snail and then I saw the bottom image and then realized its a view of a spiral staircase. I love how that all unfolded for me and I think it's an interesting way to design something!
continuing education
Thomas Mangold
I was sifting through the 'Art, Ctrl, Del' page on Facebook and I came across Thomas Mangold. He's got really good stuff on his website (http://www.thomasmangold.com).

Tim-Design trends
I didn't want to post a piece of design this time soooooo, I found this interesting blog called Creativebloq and one of the articles that grabbed my attention was some predictions someone had about the design trends for 2013. I thought it was a great resource for up and coming designers who might not be a part of the in crowd when it came to designers. It's a way for us starting designers to have some semblance of a chance when we enter the real world. Check it out and see what you think.
Distressing Technique Ai
I found this technique/tutorial on the internet for making things looked old and distressed on Ai. It adds nice texture and interest. Plus it's really easy to do.
3D
I am a big fan of 3D design and if you are at all interested in it or animation, http://www.videocopilot.net/ will keep you up to speed on the latest technology and they have great easy to follow tutorials. Definitely cutting edge stuff. Photoshop, After Effects, Elements,... etc...

Vintage Calendar
I LOVE this vintage calendar layout! I always wonder how people take such chaotic scenes and abstract imagery and collage it together without it looking overwhelming. This calendar has so much going on but it's still easy on the eyes and feels unified. Something I will definitely take note of for further designs!
Printed Calendar "Notebook"
Not only is this a calendar, but it is a good example of a unique leave behind for Portfolio.

Awesome Calendar!
This motion calendar on Behance is so creative! The way this person abstracted each month into moving close ups of these everyday objects was so interesting to watch! I thought this was relevant to our current project and definitely got me brainstorming some new forms of abstraction! I also thought it was nice to see their sketches laid out underneath this video to show their thought process. I think there minimalistic/basic sketches are something our class should also take note on, its about building the idea, you don't have to be an amazing drawer!
Wacom Tablet
Some tutorials for Wacom tablet.. there's lots of basic, getting started tutorials and more advanced ones for illustrating and painting. Very helpful!
